So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 62 - Captain America: The First Avenger/Captain Ron

July 25th, 2011 · Comments

It's Captains' Week at Ye Olde Movie Geek Podcast, and for once we're not talking about Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, or Capt Crunch. No - this week goes out to the real heroes. Captain Heroes. Y'know, the kind who run into fire bridges, do battle with trash can lids, and who wear their scraggly long hair unwashed and generally enjoy loafing (a la 'The Big Lebowski Goes Boating'). That's right - this week belongs to Captain America/Ron!!!! Because really, haven't you ALWAYS WANTED to hear J & K sing the alternative Bruno Mars hit '(I'd Jump On A) Grenade' and do impressions of Captain Ron as Fat Albert? Yep. We thought so. So we made you this podcast. You're welcome, America. Rated PG-13!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 61 - The Harry Potter Series

July 19th, 2011 · Comments

HARRY POTTER-THON!!! Yes. Justin did it. He coerced Krissy via magic elixir to finally break down and watch her some Harry Potter. Not just one movie. Not just two. But EVERY SINGLE one over the span of a weekend. Including...the new one, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, that's now breaking box office records. Why hadn't she seen any of these incredibly popular movies? Why hadn't she read any of the books? Because she's Krissy. And this podcast exists specifically to catch her up to speed on the many MANY films she has failed to watch while she was flight of the navigated to some strange land where no one anywhere reads popular books or watches really awesome movies or TV. So yeah. WE DID IT, y'all. Krissy is now a full Potter-head. Or something. This podcast might seem a bit rambling because we taped it minutes after we got home from the new flick. And before was like 20 hours of Potter straight. So we were a tad loopy. We discuss the entire series, the new movie, our favorite characters, etc. Spoilers lie ahead, like usual. It's all rated PG-13...ish!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 60 - Horrible Bosses/The Devil’s Advocate

July 11th, 2011 · Comments

The potty-mouth tirade continues! This week we welcome one of our favorite ladies, Grae Drake (of the Popcorn Mafia podcast, Movies dot com and Fandango fame), as a super special guest to discuss not one but TWO bad boss flicks: Horrible Bosses and The Devil's Advocate!! What do we spend waaaay too long blabbin' about, you might (or might not) ask? Well...what color is Jennifer Aniston's eyes AND when is she going to finally show the goods? What are our personal worst boss stories and why was Krissy's so molesty? Jason Bateman or Jason Sudeikis: deep down, who's more naughty (per Grae)?? Apple core stars? Are they acceptable to use when grading films? Plus..GRAE SINGS! We talk about Shades of Keanu once again! WHOA. And what is Charlize Theron's major paint malfunction in The Devil's Advocate? And what does the end of the movie mean? WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN??!!!???? All of it's rated R because we curse! Again. It's OK. We're all adults!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 59 - Pulp Fiction/Pretty Woman

July 4th, 2011 · Comments

Hit men and hookers! Two of our most favorite subjects wrapped into a warm podcast tortilla of love! With a very special guest from the opposite coast! Yes, this week we welcome our podcast's biggest superfan (and potential stalker?) Jordan Yanco to form together like Voltron and discuss 2 more flicks Krissy had managed to evade for waaaaaaay too long: PULP FICTION and PRETTY WOMAN!!! What better double feature to celebrate the Fourth of July, right? Like a bottle rocket straight into your face! WARNING: we even push it like Salt and Pepa by dropping the F bomb an extraordinary number of times! How does one responsibly drink alcohol (or diet root beer) and talk about Pulp Fiction without it? We also speak upon the subjects of hookers, butt watches, Julia Roberts movies, TRAVOLTA, Quentin Tarantino's foot fetish, subtle and unsubtle racism, Walken impressions, heroin, cocaine and morphine while we're at it! We're also checkin' your ID's beforehand cause this here episode is rated RRRRRRRRrrrrrr!!!!
