Episode 91 - Goodfellas/Scarface
Thursday Mar 15, 2012
Thursday Mar 15, 2012
It's an organized crime DOUBLE FEATURE in yo ears, ya'll! And two of the most popular ones of all time at that: Goodfellas (1990) and Scarface (1983)! Did Krissy stay awake through the multi-hour - bang bang, eff this, eff that - adventures with Henry Hill and Tony Montana? Was she disgusted by the extreme violence and bad language? You'll have to listen to find out! We also discuss DOING TONS OF COKE!!!!, Scorsese, mafia life lessons, Joe Pesci, stirring the sauce, good vs. bad soundtracks, chainsaw shopping, Michelle Pfeiffer's dancing skills, drug tents, Steven Bauer's finest role, Dances With Wolves, donating to D.A.R.E. and much more! We even unveil what might be the worst Tony Montana impressions done by anyone ever. All with lots of F bombs because, well, have you seen these movies?

Episode 90 - Bull Durham/Varsity Blues
Thursday Mar 08, 2012
Thursday Mar 08, 2012
SPORTS! DOUBLE! FEATURE! Men playing with their balls and stuff! Don't you just love it?!? We sure do! So much so that we chose this week as the one in which Krissy would finally watch one of the most famous sports movies of all time: Varsity Blues! No wait...Bull Durham? What about BOTH OF THEM!?!? Right? You're feeling a little tingly in the nether regions just thinking of all this sports-related conversation, aren't you? We have to admit that this podcast is seriously cray cray. It includes an amazingly convoluted discussion of Kevin Costner monologues, "Space Beer Mountain," strip club car washes and brew-thrus, "Sex Gepettos," whipped cream bikinis, terrible Southern accents, sex and sports performance, The Dawson and much MUCH more. This episode is also rated R for our 2nd explicit ITunes certification in a row! We're sorry, our unborn child and people who loathe cursing.

Episode 89 - Fatal Attraction/Fear
Thursday Mar 01, 2012
Thursday Mar 01, 2012
Oscars Shmoscars. Who wants to sit around and golf-clap to fancy Best Picture winners like The Artist when you could watch and discuss Fatal Attraction and Fear instead?! Clearly, J and K have decided to take the road less traveled this year. In fact, it may not even be a road... but a Choose Your Own Adventure masturbatory roller coaster ride with Glenn...we mean...Albert Nobbs! Either way, it's a truly harebrained ride on the good ol' podcast crazy train. We discuss the merit (or lack thereof) in cheating on your wife with a comparatively hideous Medusa-haired man-troll, how to pick up on girls with wide foreheads in 90s rave clubs a la Mark Wahlberg, and (most importantly) HOW TO INCLUDE ALBERT NOBBS IN ALMOST EVERYTHING. Seriously. That chick/dude is *everywhere.* This episode is rated 'R' for some salty language and some even saltier Julia Childs impressions.

Episode 88 - The Vow/Defending Your Life
Wednesday Feb 22, 2012
Wednesday Feb 22, 2012
We're baaaack! Did you miss us? The Medieval Times Hospital we were in last week just didn't have good enough wi-fi for a podcast... Sorry! But the good news is we're alive and kicking - some of us are even kicking from inside the womb now! Yes, the baby officially has ears and can hear us as we rattle on about this week's movies - The Vow and the little-known Defending Your Life. Just don't let the baby hear what this podcast is really all about (murder, office whore-ery, purgatory, love flatulence, apathetic amnesia and Candace Cameron Bure) and we'll be just fine. So please enjoy this week's podcast - but only if you're a "good person." If you're not.... Krissy will see you at the office soon. Rated PG-16(ish)!

Episode 87 - Chronicle/Animal House
Thursday Feb 09, 2012
Thursday Feb 09, 2012
The power of LANDIS compels you! Yes, it's a Landis family double feature this week as we watch our first movie of 2012 in the theaters, Chronicle (written by Max Landis) and pair it with Krissy's first John Belushi movie EVER, 1978's Animal House (directed by Max's dad, John Landis). And between grumbling about jobs, exhaustion, lack of sleep, pregnancy brain, etc., we discuss moving things with our minds, the suspension-of-disbelief-a-meter, rainbows and third-world countries, flying pitstops, filthy fraternities, Eddie Murphy and the Knights and much much more! We're practically moving your finger to push play right now...WITH OUR MINDS!!!!!! Rated PG-15!

Episode 86 - Parenthood/Nine Months
Wednesday Feb 01, 2012
Wednesday Feb 01, 2012
BREAKING NEWS! The So I Married a Movie Geek foray into Director's Month is being abbreviated - cut short! ended! sayonara! - to make room for an important announcement and subsequent podcast... Whatever could it be? Are J and K moving to the Ukraine, becoming gypsies and hiring Maggie as their manager?? No. But we promise the news and ensuing discussion are pretty EPIC. And by epic, we definitely mean 'crazy' and 'all over the place.' Parenthood and Hugh Grant's Nine Months make for some good in-between conversation, but really, this podcast is all about US. Because we are VERY ATTRACTIVE and PEOPLE CARE ABOUT US!!!!!! ...Or so we have deluded ourselves to believe. This podcast is rated PG-13!

Episode 85 - Psycho/Rear Window
Wednesday Jan 25, 2012
Wednesday Jan 25, 2012
Krissy's finally been Hitchcock'd! YES! For our next week in "Directors Month," we watched Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Rear Window (1954), making them the very first Hitchcock movies Krissy has EVER SEEN. Say whaaaaaaat???!?? Thank Jeebus we have this podcast so we could rectify that crazy happenstance. And since we were rollin' late on this episode, we tried to keep it shortish, even using a stopwatch. The timed discussion includes crazy talk 'bout Norman Bates' "nervousity," bad taste AIDS jokes, Janet "Worst Crook of All Time" Leigh, controversial flushing toilets, bad James Stewart impressions, our personal Rear Windows, the flash defense and Supreme Hottie Grace Kelly! It's all PG-ish and totally in TECHNICOLOR!!!!!

Episode 84 - Fargo/No Country For Old Men
Monday Jan 16, 2012
Monday Jan 16, 2012
January = Director's Month here at So I Married a Movie Geek, and what better way to start it off than with two movies by the Coors Brothers -- err, Coen Brothers. (The former brothers tried to make beer and failed. The latter make movies!) So J and K got saddled up for a crazy, greedy/murderous romp through all the states they'd never want to actually be in for prolonged periods of time. Yes -- all the way to Fargo and the land where Mexican mariachi bands awaken you from your bloody stupor with song (aka No Country for Old Men)! Good times, folks. Good times. And by 'good times' we definitely mean 'holy hell, we're glad we're not hapless characters caught in a Coen Bros' character cycle of corruption and avarice.' But hey, if you like cowboys (but not aliens), North Dakota / Minnesota accents (but not ever living there), or brothers who make fine cinema instead of crappy beer, listen on! Rated PG-ish...?

Episode 83 - Favorite Films of 2011
Tuesday Jan 03, 2012
Tuesday Jan 03, 2012
Happy new year, y'all!! Before we proceeded with the awesomeness that is 2012, we took an episode-long look back at our favorite films of 2011! So we each had our own personal lists with some honorable mentions on the side! Which movies would be the ones we'd most likely watch again and again a few years from now? If we had 10 flicks from the past year to take onto a desert island, which ones would we choose? Could we (gasp) have the same #1 movie??? ALSO, Krissy looks at the list of 68 movies (!!!) she finally caught up with due to the podcast and chooses her favorites and least favorites! This episode is rated PG-13!

Episode 82 - Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol/Mission: Impossible
Tuesday Dec 20, 2011
Tuesday Dec 20, 2011
TOM CRUISE POWER! Since Krissy (of course) had never seen a Mission: Impossible movie beforehand, this week we watched the 1996 original in preparation for an IMAX screening of the brand new Mission 4! This one involved GHOSTS! Or did it? Which one wowed us more? And what did we think of the extended trailer that ran before the movie for The Dark Knight Rises? You should listen! Because, well, we talk about all of that...stuff! We also discuss exploding chewing gum and French aquarium restaurants, Cruise's running skills, climbing up buildings with sticky gloves in Dubai, EMILIO ESTEVEZ!!!, Paula Patton's blazing hotness, Jeremy Renner's Bourne-ness, Charlie Brown teacher villains and much much more! And it's all relatively PG! This podcast episode will self-destruct in 3 seconds...
