So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 71 - Moneyball/Orgazmo
Wednesday Sep 28, 2011
Wednesday Sep 28, 2011
Baseball vs. porn. Porn vs. baseball. How do you choose between the 2 subjects of our latest double feature? One features Brad Pitt playing the smooth-talking manager of the record-breaking 2002 Oakland Athletics. The other features a character who wears a dildo on his head and a woman known for pleasuring 4 men at the same - albeit gross - time. MONEYBALL and ORGAZMO, you guys. Tons of fun. We discuss baseball movies, Dodger Stadium seating, the Brad and Jen and Angelina Monster, Jonah Hill, nerding out about statistics, the importance of whipped cream porn, the infamous back room at Club Vid, karaoke birthday rules and MUCH more! Rated PG-13 with hints of strong language (mostly from Krissy) and discussion of Orgazmo's infamous "DV/DA shot."

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 70 - Drive/License To Drive
Thursday Sep 22, 2011
Thursday Sep 22, 2011
It's a DRIVE double feature! Or a triple feature if you count the fact that both of us saw Drive twice over the weekend. We enjoyed it a great deal, you see. GO SEE IT NOW! AND Krissy finally got to experience her 2nd film from the Two Coreys Trilogy: License To Drive! The cinema vehicular discussion that followed includes thoughts on Ryan Gosling's hunk status, "Nightcall," Albert Brooks as a bad bad guy outside of The Simpsons, the simpleness of Carey Mulligan, autism, supercool scorpion jackets, superheroes, "30 seconds On Christina Hendricks," that elevator scene, low-energy strip club dressing rooms, getaway driving for sport and hobby, the ending of Drive, the iconic character of Mercedes Lane, DMV driving tests and MUCH more! Rated PG-13 b/c we discuss some violent "brain matter" moments!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 69 - Friends with Benefits/Y Tu Mamá También
Thursday Sep 15, 2011
Thursday Sep 15, 2011
Guess who has another girl crush? If you guessed ‘Krissy,’ you win a prize! And if you guessed ‘Justin,’ you *still* win a prize!! Yes, your favorite movie-watching couple takes it aaallll the way back Awkward Town this week, as we commiserate about how hot Mila Kunis is, how NOT hot inexperienced teenagers are, and how much Krissy wants to mail a care package of BIC razors to the fine people of Mexico. The double sexy feature: Friends with Benefits and Y Tu Mamá También! Also, the age old question: can men and women actually be friends without sex getting in the way? The world needs to know! Given the subject matter, this Very Sexy 69th podcast ep should probably be rated ‘R’ - no one admitted without a parent! (But don’t actually bring your parent, ‘cause it will actually be suuuper awkward if you do.)

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 68 - Rad/Gleaming the Cube
Wednesday Sep 07, 2011
Wednesday Sep 07, 2011
Justin and Krissy are outclassed this week in a sea of BMXers (who may or may not also work in factories) and hardcore murder-solving skaters! But hey, they're REASONABLY AVERAGE IN LOVE! Grab your Couples Skate partner and join us as we discuss the merit of bringing your BMX bike to the school dance, Lori Loughlin's apparent fountain of youth, solving crime the Christian Slater skater way, driving cop cars through the O.C. very very badly, and montages! montages! montages! WHEW, that's a lot. This jam-packed podcast is rated somewhere between PG and PG-13. Enjoy!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 67 - Midnight in Paris/Manhattan
Wednesday Aug 31, 2011
Wednesday Aug 31, 2011
Woody Allen double feature! Yes, we both get a little neurotic and wacky talking about the newest Woody flick (Midnight in Paris) and one of his classics (Manhattan). One of us has seen most of Woody's output of films while the other has seen only a handful! Like always, we answer the important questions on everyone's minds: Did either movie make us want to move to Paris or NYC? Is it cool for someone to have a favorite cinematographer? What is the true Golden Age and is nostalgia really that bad? How can Owen Wilson be in a crappy movie like Hall Pass and a great one like Midnight in Paris in the same year? Is it the same guy? What's up with that? This episode is rated PG, which is really great when you compare it to some of our recent output! You could practically listen to this with your grandparents, by gosh!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 66 - The Shining/The Fly
Wednesday Aug 24, 2011
Wednesday Aug 24, 2011
WARNING: We officially have gone off the deep end for this 66th episode of SIMAMG!! And not like the deep end of the pool at a nice hotel in Vegas or something. NO. Like the deep end of a YMCA pool where it's 12 feet deep and your ears start to pop as you try to pick pennies up off the bottom. Yes, we do watch two of Justin's "FAVORITES" ever: The Shining and The Fly (The Jeff Goldblum Version). And yes, we probably say something that will offend most everyone. A roller-un-PC-coaster, if you will. But we just discuss so many things, you guys! Things like discovering yourself, youthful masturbation and "wee-wees," Full House, occasional veganism, Timberline Lodge's garage, Encyclopedia Brown, Jessica Fletcher, Stefan's inclusion in Family Matters, ghost sex and babies, Jeff Goldblum Is Watching You Poop, convoluted mazes, inside out baboons, "AIDS face," flybaby smishmortions and we even spontaneously bust out some Billy Vera and the Beaters! How unfocused can one episode get, right? All scattered, smothered, covered and rated PG-13 for pure craziness/grossness!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 65 - Almost Famous/Magnolia
Wednesday Aug 17, 2011
Wednesday Aug 17, 2011
This happens. This is something that happens... What's "this" you ask? The Total Glorious Package: Almost Famous and Magnolia! Kate Hudson at her best, Julianne Moore at her crying worst and (quite accidentally on our part) a brilliant Phillip Seymour Hoffman double feature performance! Squeak 'em, squeak 'em whaaaaat? Yup, Christmas came early this year, kids... In the form of a Golden God and raining frogs. Rated PG-13 with some poopy language on the side. Enjoy!

So I Married A Movie Geek - Episode 64 - A Clockwork Orange/Blade Runner
Tuesday Aug 09, 2011
Tuesday Aug 09, 2011
Dystopian double feature! This week, Krissy takes the flick-choosing reins and picks two movies that she couldn't continue being completely oblivious about: A Clockwork Orange and Blade Runner (The Director's Cut)!!! And she only loved one of them! Duh duh duuuuhhhh. But which one? Other questions answered during the podcast: how noir does Krissy like her noir? Does she also love - NAZIS?? What's Justin's favorite Kubrick film? What would be our personal Ludovico techniques? Is there such a thing as too rapey? Who loves synth-y soundtracks? Is Harrison Ford's narration missed? No love for Dark City? Was Deckard a unicorn-loving replicant? Yup. We wade in the shallow end of the intelligible movie discussion pool. (splash, splash) This episode is rated PG-13!

So what do cowboys, indians, aliens, clowns, laser slap bracelets, phallic gold-mining alien ships, cotton candy testes, electric circus tents, and kids with knives have in common? Absolutely nothing! Except a place in this podcast, of course, which this week takes on the new 'Cowboys and Aliens' movie along with the "kult klassic" (according to Justin) 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space.' J and K's opinions differ on which movie is the better of the two, though both are down for siphoning off some gold through a twisty straw. ...What? That made no sense to you? Well dag nabit! You'll just have to watch both of these here movies, woncha, Colonel Crabbypants? This podcast is rated a strong PG-13, for allusions to body parts and Olivia Wilde in general.

It's Captains' Week at Ye Olde Movie Geek Podcast, and for once we're not talking about Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, or Capt Crunch. No - this week goes out to the real heroes. Captain Heroes. Y'know, the kind who run into fire bridges, do battle with trash can lids, and who wear their scraggly long hair unwashed and generally enjoy loafing (a la 'The Big Lebowski Goes Boating'). That's right - this week belongs to Captain America/Ron!!!! Because really, haven't you ALWAYS WANTED to hear J & K sing the alternative Bruno Mars hit '(I'd Jump On A) Grenade' and do impressions of Captain Ron as Fat Albert? Yep. We thought so. So we made you this podcast. You're welcome, America. Rated PG-13!
